Coming to Tampere

By Air

From most European major cities there are direct flights to Helsinki, which has one of the most efficient airports in the world. Reliable Finnish airline Finnair operates direct flights between Helsinki and most European cities. From Helsinki airport there is a smooth train connection via Tikkurila hub to Tampere in 90 minutes. The tickets can be purchased from green vending machines at the airport. During the nighttime bus connection from Helsinki airport to Tampere is an option. From abroad it’s highly recommended to fly to Helsinki and take a train from Helsinki airport to get to Tampere!

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS)Finnair and airBaltic are operating flights to Tampere all year-round from Stockholm, Arlanda, Helsinki-Vantaa and Riga, Latvia. Seasonal flight connections from Bremen, Germany and all-year-round flights from Budapest, Hungary are offered by low cost airline Ryanair. Additionally there are several charter flights operated by different carriers. The city bus line number 1A operates between Terminal 1 and the city centre. The route goes past the Railway station, the east end of Hämeenkatu, Koskipuisto and the bus station. Bus lines to Tampere-Pirkkala airport.

 

By Car

Travel to Tampere by car can be an option for participants coming from Helsinki and other parts of Finland. There is a fast motorway (speed limit 120 km/h) between Tampere and Helsinki.  

By Bus

Tampere is connected to Helsinki and neighboring cities by direct bus lines. Expressbus and Onnibus offer direct bus lines between Tampere and Helsinki/Helsinki airport

By Train

From Helsinki and Helsinki airport there are fast train connections to Tampere.
