Tampere has a borderline humid continental climate/subarctic climate. Winters are cold and the average temperature from November to March is below 0 °C (32 °F). Summers are mild. On average, the snow season lasts 4–5 months from late November to early April. Considering it being at the subarctic threshold and inland, winters are on average quite mild for the classification, as is the annual mean temperature. In the beginning of May the weather varies a lot. It could be warm or chilly, it could rain or not rain, but usually it does not snow anymore! Normally the temperatures are between 10-15 °C in the beginning of May. For sure the days are getting long in early May. Sun rises before 5 am and sets about at 10 pm.
Language
The official languages are Finnish and Swedish. Finnish is spoken mostly as a first language. The most of the people can communicate in English.
For kids
