Operational research is a field offering advanced analytical methods to help decision-making in designing and managing complex systems. Such methods, including simulation, optimization, and data analytics, can effectively be used in primary care settings to improve care delivery. Some examples are improving workflows, optimizing staffing and patient scheduling, managing physicians’ time for different activities and understanding and forecasting patient needs among others.
In this workshop, after a brief presentation about how operational research is used in healthcare settings, opportunities for collaborative and interdisciplinary research projects will be discussed in small groups.
If you have any suggestions or concrete proposals for pre-conference workshops for future meetings, please send them to the EGPRN Office
